The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued recommendations for decreasing the spread of the H1N1 flu virus in the workplace and maintaining business continuity. Employer cooperation can help to reduce further absenteeism due to the possible spread of the H1N1 virus throughout the workplace.

In some communities, schools may dismiss students and child care programs may close.  Plan now to determine how you will operate if absenteeism spikes from increases in sick workers, those who stay home to care for ill family members and those who must stay home to watch their children if dismissed from school.
